The winner of ISLA 2017

ANNOUNCING CIMAZA AND ITS VIROLOGY COMICS PROJECT AS THE INAUGURAL
WINNER OF THE INNOVATION IN SCIENCE LITERACY AWARD (ISLA2017)

Cimaza, (www.cimazacomics.com) uses illustrations, comics and animated videos to improve health and science literacy, to engage and deliver science knowledge with its main focus being vaccines and viral diseases. The comics are provided in main European languages and Arabic, thus attracting a wide target audience from children to adults, refugees, immigrants, educators and the general public.

Cimaza was founded by Dr Susan Nasif, who has a PhD in virology. She has combined her passion and knowledge in science to recreate a way of exploring vaccines and viruses in an inspirational, fun and easy format that aids learning and understanding.
